| Christmas Shoppe |
The second annual Christmas Shoppe will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Willow Wood Recreation Building. There will be crafts created by local artists such as Original Stiles Jewelry, crocheted items, soy candles, and handmade soaps along with commercial items such as Pampered Chef, Beauti-Control, Pick-a-Purse Plus, and much more. Admission will be $2, which will support the Willow Wood Summer Camp. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, please contact Jeanne Stiles at 229-1982. | Wild Game Cookoff |
The Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana Iberia Unit will host its Brudley’s seventh annual Wild Game, Seafood and Jambalaya Cookoff from 5 to 9 p.m., Nov. 21 at the SugArena in New Iberia. All food entries must be cooked on-site and only initial preparations such as cutting vegetables, cutting and marinating meet may be completed in advance. Categories for the recipes are wild game, jambalaya, seafood and other. The organization is searching for sponsors and cooking teams. The fun-filled event has helped to raise almost $160,000 to date, all benefiting the Iberia Boys and girls Club. For more information, call 268-9555.

| Holiday gumbo, boats |
The Delcambre Holiday Gumbo Cookoff and boat parade will be held beginning at 11 a.m. for the cookoff and 6:30 p.m. for the boat parade Dec. 5 at the Delcambre Shrimp Festival Grounds and the Delcambre boat docks.

| Tour of homes |
The annual Christmas tour of homes will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 13 with the host home as the Shadows-on-the-Teche. Guided tours of homes in the New Iberia Historic District decorated for the Christmas season will be given.

| Weeks Hall Art Exhibit |
An exhibit featuring the paintings of Weeks Hall and his friends, Alphonse Hitter and J. S. Elwood Gary will be displayed from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays at the Shadows Visitors Center at 320 East Main St. through Nov. 29. These three men lived in New Iberia in the 1920s to 1950s and shared a love of art. The exhibit will include paintings from the Shadows Museum Collection and from private collections. | Food Drive/Health Fair |
The Elité Social Club in conjunction with Genesis Urban Clothing Store will hold a Food Drive and Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Nov. 14 at Genesis Urban Clothing Store, 617 S Hopkins St. Nurses will be on site to conduct blood pressure and diabetes screening. | Remeber November: A Cultural Road Show |
The City of Franklin’s Main Street Program will host the 4th annual Main to Main event, Remember November Cultural Road Show, on Nov. 14 from 12 to 6 p.m. It is intended to showcase Franklin’s Main Street and the unique cultural assets and features that make our historic district unique. This year’s theme will be “Christmas on the Bayou with a Trail to the Lampposts”. The event will take place along Main Street in the Historic downtown area. We hope to create a signature event reminiscent of a street carnival. Admission is free to the public.
Shops on Franklin’s Main Street will be showcased to ring in the holiday shopping season and support local merchants. Nonprofit vendors and downtown development district retailers will position at storefronts along Main Street. Carnival acts and many costumed characters will adorn Main Street and a Children’s Arena will profile magicians, mimes, stilt walkers, arts and crafts, and games. Games and contests will be held for youth and horse-drawn buggy and train rides will be held along Main St and Teche Dr. A Christmas boat parade, two music bands, and flavorful food displaying the culinary tastes of Louisiana heritage are planned.

| Lithuanian-born Pianist, Rudolf Budginas Educates and Entertains Through his Music |
Rudolf Budginas is on a U.S. grassroots crusade to entertain and educate students about classical music. While on tour, Budginas spends his days speaking and performing for free at locals schools prior to his evening concerts. Budginas will perform at 7 p.m. Nov. 23 inside the auditorium at New Iberia Senior High. Single tickets are being sold for $20 at Music Vision, Paul's Flower Shop and Teche Office Supplies. Iberia Community Concert Association membership plans for adults, families, full-time students and grandparents are available at www.iccamusic.org.
