GOP needs specific plan

In 1994, Republicans planned and scored a resounding victory in the House and Senate after the Clinton administration tried to remake health care in America into a government run socialist organization.

The scenario is somewhat similar today, except one thing is missing. In 1994 the Republican Party offered the voters a “Contract for America” that all but two Republicans in Congress signed and every Republican candidate for office signed as well. That contract was specific and because it was a powerful promise, it was accepted by the American voting public and Republicans gained control of Congress again in a huge turnover. That “contract” is missing today.

Our elected Republican leaders need to have a specific plan/agenda of proposed legislation that will again gather the attention of the disconcerted in this land of the free.  It has been said that if one is unable to offer solutions that one becomes a part of the problem.

Therefore, here is one place to begin.  Let no bill be presented that isn’t specific to our constitution’s allotted powers to the Federal government. Let no bill be presented that in any way smacks of redistribution of wealth.  Let no bill be presented that attempts to nationalize or endanger any private enterprise in our capitalist system.  Let no bill be presented that in any way adds to our tax burden.

Whereas there are many other suggestions that could be made, allow me to close with this one: Repeal any and all so-called stimulus bills and outrageous spending that adds one thin dime to our mounting deficit. Republicans simply must come up with a viable plan and stick to that plan regardless of the political storms that may ensue. A nation that stands on a deficit forming a shaky foundation to its financial security is a nation that awaits implosion. We cannot allow that to happen.  God bless America!

" I agree with you that increasing our deficits is not in our nation's interest, but I don't think it's as serious as you and many others think. I'm not saying to be unconcerned. I'm just pointing out that our nation in its 200+ year history has operated in the red for more than 90% of its history, and we haven't imploded yet. We survive because we have greatness in us and more times than not, we tap into it when needed. "
