CHS Homecoming Dance vs. ACT By Concerned Parentj6Considering the decline in ACT scores at CHS do you think the administration considered moving the homecoming dance to saturday night instead of friday after the game. Students will be forced to choose between staying out late after a Homecoming game and attending the dance or going home and get a good nights sleep and rest up for the ACT test they will be taking on Saturday morning. I understand that it is the responsibility of students and parents alike to make good choices and sound decisions but, why should they have to even make this choice. All in all,the students may think, "If I don't do well on this test I can just take it again." Not bad logic in my book. However, these scores will be recorded and further bring down the average reported by CHS. It is these type of decisions by the CHS administration that is bringing the unwanted attention to its lack of leadership. Are dances on Saturday night really that bad? Why not move the dance so that "everyone" can enjoy it? Sure the test can be take again but the memoried of a High School Homecoming dance are limited. Its the little things that the administration can do, but refuses too, that can make a difference in attitude and moral. If anyone in the "clique" can make a difference I beg you to do so for the sake of the kids.
