Variations:
This is where you can be creative and experiment with various combinations of spices, oils and condiments. Use these in place of or in addition to the salt in the basic roasted pecan recipe.
• 1 teaspoon each of chili powder, onion salt and cayenne pepper.
• 1 teaspoon each of soy sauce, garlic powder and ground ginger.
• 1 teaspoon each of sesame oil, Chinese five-spice powder and soy sauce.
• 1 teaspoon each of Worcestershire sauce, onion powder and celery salt.
