" If you have not figured that out yet there will be no use explaining it to you. I would have let them suckers sink to the bottom of the ocean. Like I said majority rules. The Republicans had their time as a majority so what? I get the feeling that Republicans are sore losers. Here is an idea! Let's split the country and Republicans can live on one side and Democrats on the other. Oh I forgot , that doesn't work either, look at the Jews and the Palestinians. There will always be someone that isn't satisfied. Get a grip. "

" Why should anyone run around trying to disprove a statement made by BB? It requires much more courage to actually prove the original statement. Do your homework, BB, instead of challenging everyone else to do it for you. Until then, we should ignore you. Tut tut. "

" It doesn't matter how you attempt to parse your words. It won't make the words any truer. It's a blanket statement that you haven't substantiated with any proof or facts whatsoever. So much for using that old brain. "

I know Pery Segura and Ted Haik are Demos
    just wondering
might explain why we are focusing on a convention center but can't get through the Lewis and Admiral Doyle light
or why the stae continues to narrow lanes to create turning lanes after knowing that they cause accidents and do nothing for traffic flow ( Johnston Street in Laf as an example) "

" This is for "To BB." Go back and read my original post. I typed EXACTLY what I meant. I typed "Ever notice that EVERY major U.S. city that is run by democrats is in horrible shape?" See that? Run by democratS, plural. GET IT?? If I was only talking about a city run by a mayor who is a democrat there would've been no s on the end. Instead of incorectly attacking my wording, please attempt to prove my staement incorrect. "

" Ever notice how people don't know how to type what they actually meant in the first place? Try using a brain next time and type what you meant. If people take your simplistic statements at face value--which should be little to nothing--then don't be surprised at the vehemence of their response. "

" Facepalm and Blatant Bias, please pay attention. Having a mayor who is a democrat does not mean that democrats (plural) run the the city. All it means is that a democrat is mayor. I was wrong in assuming you all would know I meant a democrat mayor and a majority of the city council being democrat. The same as when we have a president of one party, but the senate and the house are of another party. In such a situation, the president can get very little done. Ever notice how people respond without thinking? "

" Nice argument. Wish all people were as thorough as you. It might stop idiotic, simplistic statements from being posted... though I doubt it. "

Blatant Bias wrote on Nov 3, 2009 10:21 PM:

" Mayor Michael Moncrief of Fort Worth, Mayor Bill White of Houston, Mayor Shirley Franklin of Atlanta, Mayor Phil Gordon of Phoenix, Mayor Greg Nickels of Seattle, are just a handful of Democratic mayors who are doing a fine job.

Try this one on for size: ever notice that EVERY small-time New Iberia person (usually Republican) with no ideas likes to slam people with blanket statements that have no factual support to them? Indeed, the truth is often quite ugly. "

" This is how you do internet research.

Google for best places to live in America. Find top ten lists from a sampling of major magazines. Rank them according to how often they are repeated.

Check the wiki's for each city and find the current mayor. Google that mayor and find his political affiliation.

When you have that data, you can make an informed decision. Until then, you're talking out of the wrong end. "
