New Iberia at Terrebonne
New Iberia travels to Terrebonne this week in the first meeting for the teams since 1976. The Jackets (6-2) step out of district play this week to meet the Tigers (5-3). The two teams first played in 1928 when New Iberia won 12-0. The teams then met sporadically from 1946 to 1976 with Terrebonne holding a 7-5 advantage over NISH with one tie.

NISH quarterback Jordy Joseph has completed 96 of 147 passes for 1,265 yards and 16 touchdowns. Four Yellow Jackets have double-digit receptions, and six have at least 100 yards receiving, led by Dalario Austin with 23 catches for 287 yards and two TDs. Zane Migues has 16 for 162 yards and two touchdowns, while Jalen Jones has 15 catches for 196 yards and four touchdowns. Tight end Kyle Lamothe counts three TDs among his seven receptions.
Desarie Sam (4 TDs), Velot Khammany (2 TDs) and Tevin Archon (3 TDs) each has rushed for more than 220 yards for New Iberia.
Comeaux at Westgate
The Tigers (5-3, 2-1) close out the regular season Friday with a District 4-5A contest against Comeaux (4-4, 0-2) at Lloyd G. Porter Stadium.
With its loss to St. Thomas More last week, Westgate must win Friday to have a chance to tie STM for the district title and then hope that the Cougars lose this week to Carencro or in week 10 to NISH.
The Spartans enter the game on a three-game losing streak and were beaten 26-14 last week by Central Lafourche.
Berwick at Catholic High
The Panthers (5-3, 2-1), who beat West St. Mary 70-0 last week for homecoming, play host to Berwick (3-5, 1-2) in a key District 6-3A contest.
Catholic High must win to set up a showdown with E.D. White in the last week of the season for the district championship and an automatic bid to the playoffs.
Quarterback Taylor Bullock is third in the state in passing with 2,070 yards, behind Rayville’s PhaQuinton Lawson (2,470) and Evangel’s David Dee Duron (2,280).
Receiver Devin Boutte, who was the leading receiver in the state for most of the season, fell to second this week. Boutte has 917 yards receiving and was overtaken by East St. John’s D’hquille Williams, who has 918 yards after eight weeks.
Franklin at E.D. White
The Cardinals (7-1, 3-0) lead District 6-3A by one game over both Catholic High and Patterson. They come into the game off a 40-6 win over Berwick last week.
Franklin (2-6, 1-2) was beaten 48-6 last week by Patterson but still have a chance to get into postseason play with wins in the final two weeks over E.D. White and West St. Mary.
Sacred Heart at Loreauville
Loreauville (6-2, 2-1) stays in District 7-2A play this week to battle the Trojans (4-4, 0-3) who have lost three straight games.
Running back B.J. Greene, who has 1,074 yards rushing this year, is 17th in the state in rushing, and with 17 touchdowns is tied for 20th in the state in scoring.
Ascension Episcopal at Delcambre
Homecoming at Delcambre finds the Panthers (5-3, 2-1) playing District 7-A rival Ascension Episcopal (2-5, 0-3).
The Blue Gators suffered a 40-13 loss to Hanson last week while Delcambre beat Vermilion Catholic 7-3.
Delcambre’s Jorey Renard is 20th in the state in rushing (1,042 yards) and 14th in the state in scoring (108 points).
Erath at Rayne
The Bobcats (3-5, 0-3) continue their tour of District 5-3A play this week with a trip to Rayne to take on the Wolves (0-8, 0-3).
Erath suffered a 40-3 loss to Kaplan last week while Rayne dropped a 14-0 decision to North Vermilion.
Rayne is looking for its first win of the year, and Erath is looking for its first district win of the year.
St. Martinville at Opelousas
The Tigers (1-7, 1-4) travel to Opelousas (1-7, 1-5) in a District 6-4 contest Friday.
SMSH dropped a 35-7 loss to Denham Springs last week while OHS lost 36-6 to Cecilia.
