The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a black woman about 5-feet, 5-inches tall, last seen wearing a black jacket, a decorated white shirt and blue jeans.
Sheriff’s officials responded to the bank after 3 p.m. Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal said the woman gave the teller a note requesting $6,000 and threatening to kill her if she screamed or notified the authorities.

No one was injured in the robbery and no weapons were used, authorities said.
A small crowd gathered in the bank’s parking lot as investigators secured the scene. Jessica Ward of Jeanerette waited nervously outside the bank for word from her sister, who works in the bank. “You can’t trust nobody these days,” she said.
Investigators continued to pursue various leads this morning, Raborn said. Late Wednesday, authorities arrested a woman in Jeanerette on several outstanding warrants but later concluded she was not involved in the robbery, Raborn said.
The Sheriff’s Office circulated photos of the robbery in progress but have not yet developed a name for the suspect. “Somebody should be able to recognize this woman,” Raborn said.
Anyone with information pertaining to the robbery or the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call 369-3714.
