I don't know how to put this any clearer than i can just speak my mind. My son is going to sinor high school and he has never been in trouble in school or out of school, there is this teacher at school that dislikes my son just cause he has black friends and my son is white, now how can you tell me that is a right thing to do. My child has come home telling me about this teacher that dislikes him since the third day of school, I have got in so upset with that school, i have went to change his class but they wouldn't do it cause he is in the career prgram. Than the princable is given razors to the kids to shave the little go t's on the kids faces, well if thats the case, than why can the teachers have face hairs ? I just want to know if anyone can tell me if this is okay for teachers to judge childrens friends no matter what color they are.

" seems that everyone is more worried about what was said about the facial hair, than what was said about the teacher not liking the child because the color of friends skin, its pretty sad when that is put aside for facial hair..I can see where some people priorties are...its a real shame. "

" There is no solution to your son’s problem other than to just endure this school year. Teachers are just like the rest of society. Some are highly motivated and dedicated; some are racist; some just do what’s necessary to get by, and others are there because they like the ten month work year. Tell your son that life isn’t fair but it can be better next year. "

" You're right. The principal should not have to tell your child to shave. Your child should have been raised to know how to groom himself.

Unless you want your kid to perform manual labor all his life, you should be teaching him how to conform to professional standards. That means being cleanly shaved, wearing clothes that fit (pants with creases and shirts with buttons and collars), speaking properly and being literate.

The professional workplace only has room at the bottom for those who wish to express their individuality. "

" In the military, it is NOT self-discipline, it is called 'following orders'.In school, it's 'following the rules.' If you don't follow orders in the military, it could cost peoples' lives. If you don't follow the rules in school, it could quickly become 'crowd control'.In either instance, there is no time for individuality. You can shine, but only in the parameters set by the military and the school. Anything else must be done on your own time.Conformity,at its best. "

That's not self-discipline, it's just doing what you're told. If you had done those things without being ordered to, then *that* would be self-discipline. "

" When I went through training in the military, I was told how to dress, when to eat and how to act. It was all about self disciplin. Whatever happened to a child going to school well dressed and groomed. He's there to learn not to make a fashion statement. As far as the teacher goes. He can't do your child anything as long as your child applys himself and makes the grades. Tell your child to stop concerning himself with what the teacher thinks and get his education. Good Luck!! "

" It is sad that people do this to others. I have to admit i do it too and I'm working on not judging people. Maybe we all should try and the world would be a better place! Maybe you can bring this to the attention of a principal or going straight to the teacher with the problem. "
