Than to think you're gonna have a quiet nitght at home and these inconsiderate people have music blarring out of the trunks of their car. It's one things to listen in your car, but why assume everyone wants to hear that.

" There was only one person who drew out the race card, need I say whom it was! The whole comment was about the louder than need be music. No matter what type of music that is being played if the person in the next vehicle can hear it, it is to loud, Bottom line. "

" But there is no point in trying to tell you anything good about rap (which I'm sure you have clumped together with pop, hip hop and R&B) because you will never listen to the good stuff thats out there since you are blinded by the rap songs that are vulgar. I don't listen to all rap, but I give it a chance before choosing what I will and will not listen to. Rap on the radio doesn't have vulgar language, but you would still assume it does solely because its rap. So Simple.... "

" Yet again you haven't read what I wrote. 1st of all, the guy that was yelling at me was wrong and I proved it. 2nd, not all rap is gangster rap, if you listened to ANY rap you would know that. You seem to ignore the fact that you are absolutely wrong about that. 3rd, none of it sounds the same, the only reason you think it does is becuase you haven't listened to any of it. 4th, you can't possibly believe that ALL rappers are dumb, thats very far from true. "

" Rap is da da daa da da daa da da daa daa daa ,over and over and over again. Same beat to everyone. What instruments? Spitting into a mike? Just crouch grabbing, angry, foul mouthed wantabe thugs. Nursery rhymes are for nursuries. Is rap for those who won't or can't grow up? They don't call it "gangster rap" for nothing. It's the calling card of punks who want to intimadate and prey on those too weak to know better. Rappers and their followers IQ's top off around 40 with an occassional 41 "

" To MeMeG: What you did to that family was hateful, childish, and the reason saine people shy away from people who are rude and try to impose themselves on others. On the search for thugs and their illegal activities, it's not race but a classless group of people, disrespectful and certainly law breaking as you yourself stated . You're one of them. Broke the law by playing your music even louder "to anoy" someone cause you didn't agree. You listen to what you want, but keep it to yourself. Bet we'll not see alot of your post. "

Is this not a racially fueled statement Entertained? "

" If you listen before you judge you will find out some things you never knew. Heavy metal is noise you can barely understand anything or separate the different instrument's melodies. You can in rap, you can hear every instrument clearly. You can hear the music being made. You can listen to words instead of the screaming in heavey metal. If you've never LISTENED to rap you haven't HEARD anything. You haven't heard the lack of "disgusting" lyrics. You haven't heard life and love stories told in rap songs. You can't judge ALL rap by some rap. Yet you do... "

MeMeG wrote on Nov 17, 2009 2:13 PM:

" Example of how people don't listen: I was pulling into the drive thru at a fast food resturaunt with my music slightly loud. A man go out of his car in front of me and screamed at me for making his children listen to curse words. The song I was playing was by Nelly and had absolutely no cursing in it. I turned my radio all the way up (so he could hear what loud was) and told him I would turn it down when he heard a curse word. He was proven wrong... "

" To MeMeG: That's just it , there're no credible rap artist ,white, black or whatever. There's no art here. Same musical background, just the disgusting lyrics change. If you've heard one, you heard them all. No artistry there. You're wrong on stating which busineses I support. Quit throwing the race card. I can see how some of your post are ommitted. Loud music is just that ,loud. At one time if an officer stopped you and heard Led Zepplin, they searched for "pot". With rap, they look for "rocks", illegal guns, and fugitives running from warrants. "

If I were alone it would not bother me , but when i have my small kids with me it does get annoying, even worse when the person is at a store and no one is in the car and the music is loud and windows are down. RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE. It goes along way. Thank you. "

You won't hear me long because I'll just be passing by. And I'm sure I'll have the heads shaking, if it's not Garth Brooks playing. No one complains about trucks or trains, that make noise or even airplanes. So live a little. It will not kill you, it will make you stronger . Complain about important things. Leave bumping music to me. "

" I am far from racist hun, in fact I could be called a "race trader" LOL, because I have zero white people in my life right now. I used to have a wide variety of friends of different ethnicities and nationalites, but here its not possible because New Iberia is a "quietly" segregated community. What you said before was an insinuation towards black people, everyone whom can read can figure that out. And the editor still left out one of my posts. I DIDN"T CALL ANYONE STUPID... "

You have never been so wrong. That is not at all what I said. I have white people in my neighborhood who are just as trashy as they come. I for one would never pull the race card. You did so one would have to wonder who is the real racist. You need a reality check. Race does not matter to intelligent people. "

Entertainement: you clearly don't patron black owned businesses, no matter what type of business it is. Racist at all?

Amen: How simple of you to insinuate that ONLY black people will continue to bring babies into THEIR ignorant world or that THEIR parents weren't around. Racist at all?

(in case you don't already know, I am white. "

" Might I suggest you go online and LISTEN to artists such as COMMON, Jay-Z, NAS... Rap is story telling and you haven't even imagined the realness and heart that goes into a lot of rap music. There is crap out there too, but there is a LOT more crappy country music. If the bass lines were replaced with a banjo, would you feel better about it. Listen to the words, then you can have an opinion about rap. Until then you have no idea, no clue. Open your world a lttle bit. "

" Have you ever seen a country boy's truck with KICKER across the back window? Thats a sound system - the people who listen to country music put in their vehicles to BLAST country music. ROCK music can be heard blaring out of the vehicle of PWT all over the place. O have 4 12" speakers in my truck and I blast it when a song I like comes on. I turn it down at red lights and when I go thru neighborhoods and when I'm in traffic. "

Stores, businesses etc. that use rap in their advertizment will never get my business. My time and sanity is too precious to waste listeni ng to trash. "

There parents were probably never around to teach them common courtesy. So what do we get here in society "Ignorance". They will also bring more children into there ignorant world. Sad to say but history continues to repeat itself. "

If it was country you wouldn't say a word about it. If it was rock it would be ok. If it was Mozart or Bach you wouldn't have a problem with it. But since its rap there's a problem... Hmmm... So just because you don't like rap music you're complaining. I see....

Try listening to a few credible rap artists' music. Listen to the stories that are being told. You might learn to appreciate some of it (though I must agree some of it is garbage). "

I truly believe the sound system in that car was worth three times as much as the car. What a sad state of affairs. You can't even enjoy the fall weather because some fool has him pile of junk awakening the neighborhood. "
