A Celebration of Life service will be held for Russell Lewis, Sr. “Cold Doc” 59 on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel, New Iberia, LA, with the Prophetess Adrian Washington officiating.

He will await the resurrection at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Jeanerette, LA.

A gathering of family and friends will be at Fletcher Funeral Home on Monday 7 a.m. until the time.

A resident of Jeanerette, LA, Mr. Lewis passed on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at 9:07 a.m. in Jeanerette, LA. He was a graduate of Francis Boley High School and a star football player; he was employed at V & H Fabrication and repairs.

He leaves in God’s care, 2 sons, Russell Lewis Jr. (Savitra) of New Iberia, LA and Anthony Shields of Baldwin, LA; daughters, Latonya Smothers (Waylon) of Broussard, LA and Ashley Edwards of Jeanerette, LA; his father, Edward Lewis Sr. of Jeanerette, LA; 5 brothers, Edward Lewis Jr. (Linda) and Roland Lewis Sr. of Jeanerette, LA, Ronald Lewis Sr. (Claudia) of Corpus Cove, TX, David Lewis Sr. (Margaret) of Beaumont, TX and Michael Lewis (Elaine) of Lafayette, LA; 3 sisters, Irma Sparrow (Donald) of Jeanerette, LA, Beatrice Thompson of New Orleans, LA and Margaret L. Sennett of Houston, TX a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He now joins in glory with his mother, Sages Alexander Lewis.
