Mabel L. Gondron

LOREAUVILLE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Rhule Gondron, the former Mabel Laviolette, 93, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Buddy Breaux and Deacon Uriel Durr officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time.

A native of St. Martinville and longtime resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Gondron died Monday Oct. 26, 2009 at 10:10 p.m. at Iberia Extended Care Hospital. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

The family would especially like to thank Laura “Ticky” Antoine for the loving and dedicated care given to our mother.

Survivors include one daughter Lisa G. Hulin and husband, Warren Jr., of Loreauville; grandchildren Stephanie H. O’Pry and husband, Donovan and Adrienne Scelfo and husband, Nicholas, all of Lafayette and Stuart Hulin of Loreauville; one great-grandchild Donovan O’Pry III of Lafayette; two brothers Alexis Laviolette Jr. of New Iberia and Francis Laviolette of New Orleans; four sisters Annette and Beulah Dugas, both of Loreauville, Inez Vincent of New Iberia and Jessie Patin of St. Martinville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rhule Gondron; a son Wayne Gondron; her parents, Alexis Laviolette Sr. and Anne Albert Laviolette; three brothers Junius, Chester and Malcolm Laviolette and a sister Yola Carter.

Pallbearers will be Warren Hulin Jr., Stuart Hulin, Herbert Carter, Shane Dugas and Malcolm Dugas and Gerard Gondron.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alexis Laviolette Jr. and Francis Laviolette.
