Verlie Ann T. Viator

DELCAMBRE – Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Maurice Viator, the former Verlie Ann Thibodeaux,  79, at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Wayne Duet officiating. Inter-ment will follow at Migues Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 1 p.m.

A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Delcambre, Mrs. Viator passed away at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at her residence.

Verlie was a retired beautician and a 25 year plus breast cancer survivor. She and her husband, Maurice, enjoyed traveling the United States with the Good Sam Club. They went to every state except for Hawaii. She loved to cook and you could not visit her home without at least taking a bite of something to eat. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, her many loyal friends and her cat “Meenou.” She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Geary Viator and wife, Peggy, and Marcus Viator and wife, Debbie, all of Erath; her grandchildren Kenny Delcambre and wife, Alisha, of Texarkana, Texas; Lenny Delcambre and wife, Clarissa, and Kardell Delcambre and wife, Monica, all of Delcambre, Dereck Viator and wife, Jenna, of Maurice, Cy Viator of Delcambre, Brooke White, Nichole, Mindy and Marty Viator, all of Erath, Vince Viator of Abbevile, Lea Viator Dautreuil and husband, Herman, of St. Martinville, Jami Viator of Delcambre, Jodi Viator Hyatt and husband, Michael, of Erath, Jennifer Gachassin Miller and husband, Jeb, Angela Gachassin and Charlie Landry of Broussard, Lori G. Dubois and husband, Brent and Leslie G. Toups; great-grandchildren Brenna, Bailey, Zack, Draven, Manie, Zoe, Cyniya, Hunter, Alex, Olivia, Dustin, Christian, Victoria, Chloe, Andrea, Lauren, Taylor, Allison T., Branon, Erin, Gabriel, Madison, Ashton, Allison, Brooke, Brittany, Lynsie, Tyler, Brant and Brielle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Viator; son Marty Viator; daughter Brenda Viator Delcambre; parents, Alpheus and Esperie Broussard Thibodeaux; sister Dalta Mae Landry; and brother Percy Thibodeaux.

Pallbearers will be Kenny, Lenny and Kardell Delcambre, Dereck, Cy and Marty Viator.

Honorary pallbearers will be Draven, Maine and Vince Viator.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rinaldi’s office and staff and  Concepts of Care. Special thanks to Barbara McKenna, Hazel LeBlanc, Anna and A.J. Viator and Mary Louise “Snookem” Hebert for being there when we needed.
