Memorial services for Billy Joseph David will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Acadian Funeral Home. Interment will be held private at a later date. Visitation with the family will begin at 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Mr. David passed away on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at his residence after a battle with cancer.

Billy never met a stranger. He could see the good and have a laugh with everyone he met. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and camping was most precious to him. Mr. David had a love for dolphins, birds, sci-fi movies and his new blue car. Billy was a longtime employee of Fremin Foods - Super 1.

Mr. David is survived by his life  partner Kenneth Walker of New Iberia; mother, Phyllis J. Brown of Denham Springs; father, Joseph J. David of Denham Springs; three brothers Russell, James and Jerry David; special sisters Dee Broussard and Mona Felix; grandmother, Lee Pennington; second mother Agnes (Maw) Walker; daughter Nicole Richard and husband, Davey; granddaughters Kaylynn, Gracie and Abbygayl; along with the Walkers, Ellis, Alleman, and Derouen families and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. David was preceded in death by his stepfather, E.J. Brown.
