That's it, I'm done here. I'm tired putting time and effort into posting here, only to have my comments filtered by D.I.s staff. All I ever tried to do was inform those that don't have time to surf the net to get the "real" news, not the liberal spin you get in newspapers and the MSM. There are a lot of devious people at work to bring down our great country. You don't hear about it in the MSM. And they wonder why a lot of print media is going bankrupt. People know they don't get the "real news" there. I would like to start a sort of "Acadiana" blog of some sort to get the real news to those that don't have a lot of time to do their own investigations. Where  we can post without getting filtered by liberal bias. If there already is one let me know. The only reason I've had a lot of time to post is because I am sort of involved in the oil field. You see, Barry does not want to drill offshore. The administration is doing all it can to bankrupt this country. At present I'm reading a book by Jerome Corsi,PHD. It's title is" America For Sale". You need to get hold of a copy! There are a lot of great sites on  the net that give info you would not get any where else. I've tried to inform you on the IMF,CFR,Bilderberg, Illuminati, etc. The everday person doesn't believe there are indeed people trying to take this country down. We need to wake up as many as possible. Those that got conned into voting for Barry will never admit they were wrong. They wiil be lead to slaughter just like sheep. I refuse to give up what I've worked for all my life without a fight! The globalist elite need to be exposed. See if the staff at D.I. have the stones to post this remark?

" Just because I don't think we're turning Socialist doesn't mean I like Socialistic ideas. I don't think we should own 80% of GM; I hope eventually they pay it all back and get back to doing what they should have been doing: making cars at a reasonable price in a competitive market. We still don't own all the planes, trains, and automobiles, nor should we. If we did, we might as well try to form a Five Year Plan.

Oh, thanks, Neworleanscajun. You can be pretty cool too. "

" Hey, GottaLoveIt, the only reason I challenged you to answer is because you said that my post was ignorant and I was blatantly displaying what I didn't know.... I merely challenged you to answer the points I put up. They explain why I think we're turning socialist.

I also have a job and a life. I started posting a few months ago because I was appalled at the overall lack of reasoned entries on this forum at that time.

Having said that, you're a lot more pleasant when you don't make gratuitous attacks. :-) "

If you don't believe we're turning socialist it's because you support socialist ideals!
They don't threaten your way of thinking. "

" I agree that the potential for corruption in capitalism is too great without some regulation. However, the solution is not to discontinue and replace the system, which appears to be the agenda of Obama. After all, corruption can be just as rampant in socialism.

Overall, the percentage of people who prosper in capitalism is far greater than those who prosper in socialism. If this were not true, than why do people continually risk their lives to come to America?

Why can't people vote with their pocketbooks? I do. BTW, watchdogs can be corrupt and/or ineffective. "

" With all due respect, New Orleans Cajun, some of us have real lives and real jobs and don't hang on every word posted in the Forum. If I don't respond to your posts "post haste," Boo, it may be because I don't consider your point worth responding to. Your postings, on the whole, have been non-judgmental and thought-provoking. I don't believe for one minute that we're turning socialist, though for some reason, you do. "

" We have never been, nor should be, a 100% complete Free Market System. If we were, there would be no minimum wage, the FDIC, OSHA, EPA, etc. There have been way too many "bubbles" in history to prove that rampant, unregulated capitalism can deliver disastrous results, with the exception of many owners who make off with bundles in executive compensation packages. And it's naive to think citizens will "vote" with their pocketbooks. There aren't enough watchdogs out there to protect us and people are often to uneducated or simply don't care. "

Where ARE you? Surely it doesn't take this long to google all of this stuff. I'm still waiting to hear you defend your comments regarding how my comments are "ignorant" and "blatantly display" how much I don't know. If you don't answer the points I have brought up, it can only be assumed that you have no clue.

You might want to be sure you know what you're talking about before you attack someone's expressed point of view. You also might want to educate yourself with an open mind. "

neworleanscajun wrote on Oct 23, 2009 7:09 PM:

Boo, you're in over your head. I don't have to look up "socialism" since I taught about it for years. You can't engage in a cogent discussion if you don't know what you're talking about. How about addressing the points I brought up?

I don't believe that executives (or politicians) deserve the amount they make, but it's part of a free enterprise system. Citizens can always vote against these excesses with their pocketbooks.

Obama might not effect all of his agenda, but I don't want my future to be a crap shoot., "

Don't forget to include GM, Government Motors, in your response to my post. Please enlighten us as to how all of the examples I gave are compatible with free market enterprise? "

Gotta Love It wrote on Oct 23, 2009 5:16 AM:

" Since you did not look up the definition of socialism yourself, I did so. "A political theory advocating state ownership of industry." Exactly what industries is the Obama administration planning to own? And you honestly believe those executives, who helped ruin the economy, are worth their millions in pay packages? Besides, I don't believe the Obama administration will succeed in its endeavors to enact even half of what you listed. Some of them, however, wouldn't be bad things, except for perhaps you. "

neworleanscajun wrote on Oct 22, 2009 6:28 PM:

" Ignorance is certainly alive and well in YOUR comment. Perhaps you need to look up the definition of socialism before you make such foolish statements.

To name just SOME of Obama's socialistic agendas: cap and trade, tax and welfare programs, nationalizing banks and health care, limiting executive compensation, repealing the secret ballot in union elections, imposing the "fairness doctrine" on talk radio, and attempting to stifle media that doesn't say what he wants.

What's your point about social security and medicare? You want to increase the percentage from 16% to 100%? Why? "

Gotta Love It wrote on Oct 22, 2009 4:11 PM:

" I love the comments from people who keep saying that the country is turning Socialist. Ignorance is alive and well. This country has been partially Socialist ever since the creation of Social Security and Medicare. One sixth of our Federal Government's budget goes to these two programs, so we are essentially 16 to 18% Socialist already. Our overall economy is based on restricted Capitalism, so please refrain from inane statements about turning Socialist. It's really unbecoming of people to so blatantly display how much they don't know. "

Do you think you would just stand there quietly to see what it was he planned to do? Or do you think you might figure out he did not have your best interests at heart and try to stop him if you could?
Turning this country socialist is not in our best interests. We don't want the fabric of our country destroyed and revamped. "
