OPELOUSAS - Funeral services for Raymond A. "Pat" Patterson, 77, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas.  Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.

Mr. Patterson was born in Wichita Falls, Texas.  He died on Oct. 23, 2009, at Lafayette General Medical Center. Pat was a past resident of New Iberia for 35 years and was currently living in Sunset. Pat was a welder by trade, owning his own business and enjoyed teaching young men how to work. He was a commander for the Royal Rangers in Lafayette and a member of the Family Life Church.  Pat served our country in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict and was a very giving man.

He was also a good father, husband and grandfather and is going to be missed by all that knew him.

Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife, Jean Wilson Patterson; his sons Keith Patterson and wife Elodie of New Iberia; Timothy W. Patterson of Sunset; a step-son Ronnie Savoy; his step-daughters Lori Desormeaux and Lisa Gardner and Valarie Boudreaux; his brother Elder Patterson of Wichita Falls, Texas; one grandchild Blake Patterson; and five step-grandchildren, Phillip, Hilary, Luke, Trey and Bryce. 

He is preceded in death by her parents, P. J. and Myrtie Naron Patterson; his first wife, Clara L. Patterson and his second wife, Paula E. Patterson.  

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. until time of service.
