BALDWIN - Arthur “Chief” Latiolais, 80, a native of Opelousas and a resident of Baldwin, died, Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at 1:40 a.m. at the Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Mr. Arthur is survived by his wife of 56 years, Fay Bourg Latiolais of Baldwin; two sons, Carl Latiolais and his wife Brenda of Lafayette and Danny Latiolais and his wife Kathy of Franklin; one daughter Colleen Mayon and her husband Blane of Baldwin; one brother Harry Latiolais of Opelousas; five sisters Blackie Domingue, Theresa Guidry, Ella Mae Cole and Pearl Latiolais, all of Carencro, and Bernice Lanclos of Opelousas; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert J. Latiolais; his mother, Eurine Francois Latiolais; five brothers Frank, Gilbert, John, Willie and J.A. Latiolais; and one sister Eva Welch.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 from 11 a.m. until time of services at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baldwin. A rosary will be led by Deacon Gerald Bourg at 1:15 p.m. at the church.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, Oct. 26th at 2 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Bill Crumley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
