Silas James Gautreaux

Funeral services for Silas James Gautreaux, 3, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Nativity Catholic Church. Father Ed Degeyter will officiate the service. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, in Abbeville. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Acadian Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.

Silas loved tigger and hiffy hoppy frog, along with granola bars. He was a happy and loving child. He will be missed by all who knew him. Silas loved his boo-boos kissed.

Silas is survived by his parents, Stephen Gautreaux and Chayla Levine Gautreaux; his siblings Eben Jacob Gautreaux and Lainy Hope Lucille Gautreaux; maternal grandparents, Jacqueline Levine Jacobs (Nana) and Craig Jacobs  (Papa); paternal grandmother, Rebecca Gautreaux (Mimi); great-grandparents, Walter and Wilda Jones, Joseph and Mary Ellen Gautreuax (Big Paw Paw and Big Maw Maw) and Gloria Landry (Hunny); great-great-grandmother, Willie Mae Doucet; four uncles Chet Levine, Ceth Levine, Seth Gautreaux and Sean Gautreaux; four aunts Erin Levine, Shanon Gary (Justin), Savanna Lebert (James)  and Scarlet Gautreaux; two great-aunts Karin Ortego (Marcus) and Alida Gautreaux; one great-uncle Charles Gautreaux (Cindy); extended family members Robert and Christine Halphen, the Piontek Family; cousins Mya M. Levine and Asa H. Levine; along with numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.

Readers will be Craig Jacobs and Shanon Gautreaux; offertory gifts will be brought up by Jacqueline Jacobs and Rebecca Gautreaux.

Silas was preceded in death by one brother Xavier Espeut; grandfather Chester Levine Sr.; great-grandparents, Otis Harrison and Lucille Comeaux Harrison.

 Pallbearers will be Chet Levine Ceth Levine, Justin Gary, Seth Gautreaux and Sean Gautreaux.
