Frank A. Vaccarella

Frank Anthony Vaccarella, 85, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, passed away Friday, October 16, 2009, at 2:05 a.m. at the Franklin Healthcare Center with his wife by his side.

Mr. Frank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bobbie Owens Vaccarella of Franklin; two sons, Larry Anthony Vaccarella and his wife, Trish, of Franklin, and Thomas Brown and his wife, Pat, of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Sedonia “Tootsie” Domino of Thibodaux; and six grandchildren, Kerry, Steven, Danielle, Addison, Autumn and Destiny.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Vaccarella Sr. and Frances Polito Vaccarella; three brothers Sam Vaccarella Jr., Joseph Vaccarella Sr., and Morris Vaccarella; and one sister Rosie Benoit.

Mr. Frank was a veteran of the Unites States Navy having served during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Region.  He was employed by Himel’s Motor Supply of Franklin for 37 years, then by Cypress Bayou Casino for 12 years.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Monday, October 19, at the Church of the Assumption from 10 a.m. until Mass time, with the Rosary being prayed at 11:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at the church at 2 p.m.  Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.  Father Gregory Cormier will officiate the services.
