Rose R. Bacqué

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009, at a 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette for Rose Ripoll Bacqué, 84, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.

Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.

Reverend Justino H. Estoque Jr., Associate Rector of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette, will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Survivors include one daughter Marylene B. Radd and her husband, Joseph, of Webster Springs, W.Va.; two sons Henry V. Bacqué and his wife, Sarite, of New Iberia and Albert P. Bacqué and his wife, Sandra, of Mandeville; nine grandchildren Daniel Vincent Bacqué, Gus William Bacqué, Danielle Bacqué Sundvall, David Pierre Bacqué, Melissa Claire Bacqué Fitzpatrick, Jennifer Ann Bacqué, Jaie Paul Radd, Brian Lee Radd and Kery Alan Radd; and five great-grandchildren Sarah Ann Bacqué, Leanna Sarite Bacqué, Raymond Pablo Sundvall, Russell William Sundvall and Caleb Cole Fitzpatrick.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gus Bacqué; parents; two sisters; and one brother.

A native of Spain, raised in Algeria and naturalized as a U.S. Citizen, Rose Bacqué was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A Rosary will be prayed Sunday, October 18, 2009, at 7 p.m. in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
