Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Dorena Buteaux Girouard, 79, at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Mark Derise officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Girouard passed away at 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 13, 2009, at Iberia Medical Center.

Dorena loved flowers and crafts. She was known for her contagious laughter and smile. She will be deeply missed by her family, as well as by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her sons Randall Girouard and Troy Girouard of New Iberia; daughters Sandra Lee G. Babineaux and husband, Gerald, of New Iberia, Toni Marie Girouard, Ethel Mae G. Boudreaux and husband, Nelson Jr., of New Iberia, Kinta Marie G. Doiron and husband, Clifford Jr., of New Iberia and Ginger Ann G. Jester and husband, Jay, of New Iberia; brother Alfred G. Buteaux and wife, Georgia Mae Hebert Buteaux, of Jeanerette; sisters Louise B. Decuir and husband, Emick, of Mississippi, Dianne B. Guillotte and husband, Richard P., of Jeanerette; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Alfred and Eterre Dugas Buteaux; loving husband, Sostene E. Girouard Jr.; sister Rose Mary B. Vaccarella and husband, Sam II; and a precious great-grandson Dayton Girouard.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Brett Babineaux, Brandon Babineaux, Beau Babineaux, Benjamin Babineaux, Randy Girouard, B.J. Girouard, and Trent Boudreaux.
