Health care is doomed

I find it amazing that over half of the country feels that a government run health care system is acceptable, but about a third are concerned about the price and quality.

For a system that will be run with the same efficiency and speed as the Internal Revenue Service, it should come as no surprise that we are doomed if this will in fact become reality. Sen. Edward Kennedy has also introduced legislation that will tax employer provided insurance benefits as income, thus costing you, the overburdened and underserviced citizen, more and more of your hard earned wages, all the while providing a poorer quality of service.

Has this country gone mad? How in the world can we as a nation support the lunacy of a government sponsored health care system that will ration service, slower the pace of treatment, determine the severity of illness and basically qualify the quality of life for each and every one of us, based on what some bureaucrat in Washington, D.C., deems fitting? Is this the “change” that the sheep in the country voted for during the last election?

It is time for the concerned and underrepresented citizens of the U.S. to stand up and rightfully fight for our rights. We are being trampled on by rampant liberalism that comes in the form of this “health care” system, taxpayer funded abortions, repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act, implementation of an economy busting “cap and trade” system and a “President” that will not acknowledge a Day of Prayer, but has determined that a month in honor of the “Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Transgender” is perfectly acceptable.

The once great country that we have lived in is now being turned into a subservient second class nation that is indebted to the country of China because of these liberal programs that we have borrowed trillions of dollars to fund. God have mercy on our future.

    " Oz,
If nationalized medicine is such a wonderful thing, why is it that Canada has its citizens crossing the border and paying for services here in the United States. How can you say that a system that rations services and has you on a waiting list for something that could possibly save your life be a positive thing?

How about being in that percentage of folks that the system fails. Would you think it was so wonderful? Get your head out of the sand.

BTW, my ranting is still allowed by the Constitution, for now. "

" Christopher J. Gary seemed to rant about everything.

However, it is way past time for the USA to emulate most other countries with a national health care system. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's a lot better than whatever's in second place. Hmmm... Seems I remember a quote like that from I think FDR about democracy as a form of government. Face it folks, national health care works 99% of the time. Okay, maybe it's 96% or 97%, but the fact is it works and has worked for 60 years or so in the UK, Australia, Canada, etc. "
