Government aid not free

Regarding an article in last Sunday’s paper — “National Health Care — Some Folks Say Yes,” by Heather Miller, it’s about President Obama’s push for government health insurance.

Some people think it’s good — they’re in a financial bind and they’d get it free. We need to remember when it comes to government aid — it’s not free. If you get it free, some other taxpayer is making money that will be taxed for these free programs.

I remember reading, years ago, about people from Canada coming to the United States for needed surgeries — the waiting line in their country was too long to wait — can you visualize being that desperate?

Big Brother (government) is gradually creeping in and taking over our lives. Instead of standing (as best we can) on our own two feet we ask Big Brother to watch over us — to take care of us.

Just how much freedom are you willing to give up to have Big Brother take care of you?
